Spider AF is a marketing security suite from Spider Labs in Japan. It sells four separately priced products: click fraud protection from $150 a month, fake lead protection from $288, the SiteScan script security scanner from $288, and bot protection for ecommerce stock hoarding.
Spider AF Alternatives for Any Ad Volume
Last updated: August 2026
Spider AF is priced for volume. The entry plan is $150 a month and covers 500,000 clicks, which is cheap per click and a high floor if you run a fraction of that. It also keeps only two months of data on every plan, Enterprise included. The Spider AF alternatives below range from $15 a month to quote-only, and the right one depends almost entirely on how much traffic you buy.
Who Spider AF is priced for
Spider Labs, the Japanese company behind it, sells a suite rather than a tool. Ad Fraud Protection is one of four separately priced products, alongside Fake Lead Protection, the SiteScan script security scanner, and bot protection for ecommerce stock hoarding.
On the click fraud product, Performance is $150 a month, or $120 on annual billing, for up to 500,000 clicks. Elite is $990, or $790 annually. Every tier carries unlimited domains and unlimited ad spend with no spend-based fees, which is unusual and genuinely valuable if your budget is large.
Run the arithmetic and the picture is clear. At 500,000 clicks, $150 works out at $0.0003 a click, far below anything else here. At 20,000 clicks, which is a realistic month for a mid-sized advertiser, you are paying $150 for what Fraud Blocker covers at $99 and Clixtell at around $50. Spider AF is not overpriced; it is priced for someone else.
Two things worth knowing before you compare quotes. The published click ceilings contradict each other: one table on the pricing page gives Elite "up to 1M clicks/month" and Enterprise "over 1M", while a second table on the same page gives Elite "up to 30M" and Enterprise "up to 100M". And the fake lead and website scanning products are separate subscriptions from $288 a month, with the higher lead tiers adding development costs quoted case by case.
What it does that cheaper tools do not
Credit where it is due. Spider AF's placement and brand safety controls are stronger than most of this category. You get website placement reporting and blocking, made-for-advertising category exclusions, brand safety categories, language-based exclusions, imported placement reports, Performance Max placement optimisation, plus mobile app and YouTube placement blocking. All of that sits on the entry plan.
That matters if your spend runs through Display, Demand Gen, YouTube or Performance Max, where the waste is less about repeat clickers and more about where the ad ended up. Most tools priced under $100 handle the first problem and ignore the second.
Support is also unusually concrete. Every plan includes a dedicated Customer Success Manager, and the vendor states that the CSM remit extends to helping negotiate refunds from publishers. No other vendor in this comparison commits to that in writing.
Where it comes up short
Data retention is two months across all three tiers. Not two months on entry rising with the plan, but two months on Enterprise as well. When a quarter goes wrong and you need to reconstruct which sources were sending invalid traffic in month one, that data is gone. For comparison, Lunio keeps click stream data for two years and ClickGuard Pro keeps six months.
The trial is also monitoring only. Fourteen days of full Elite access, with blocking switched off, and the first results arriving 10 to 14 days after the tag goes live. The vendor's reason is sound, in that it wants clean data before acting, but it means the trial tells you how much invalid traffic you have without showing you what the product does about it. Setup is not self-serve either: you register, then the support team contacts you.
Seven alternatives worth comparing
Every price below is the vendor's published list price, checked in August 2026, or marked as unpublished where the vendor does not disclose one.
ClickPatrol
The closest match on capability at a fraction of the floor. Traffic Security Starter is €59 a month on annual billing and covers Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads and DV360 with unlimited domains and unlimited platforms, so a multi-brand setup does not force an upgrade. Performance Max is supported rather than partially covered, clicks are scored on more than 800 data points at a stated 99.97% bot accuracy, and connecting Google Ads takes about a minute with no code.
Beyond blocking, DataProtector keeps invalid conversions out of the data Smart Bidding learns from, and remarketing lists stay free of bot traffic. The free Traffic Insights tier monitors without blocking, so protection means a paid plan. The trial is 7 days and verifies identity with a one-time €0.01 charge. Lunio
The one to look at if Spider AF felt right but the retention window did not. Lunio, formerly PPC Protect, keeps all click activity from every channel as first-party data for two years, and propagates an exclusion across platforms automatically once an invalid IP is caught anywhere. Its named channel list is the widest here: Google, Bing, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Yandex and Naver. Multiple workspaces with separate admin and user controls suit agencies and multi-brand teams.
The trade-off is transparency. Lunio publishes no price at all; the pricing page is a contact form, and the model is a share of your ad spend, so the bill grows with your budget whether or not the invalid traffic does. What it calls a 14-day free offer is a traffic audit rather than a working trial. Our Lunio review goes further.
ClickCease
The volume alternative at the SMB end, and the tool people most often weigh against Spider AF. As CHEQ's small business tier it blocks fraudulent IPs on Google, Meta and Microsoft Ads automatically, adds WordPress bot protection and validates HubSpot leads through Lead Shield, which covers some of what Spider AF sells separately as Fake Lead Protection.
From $99 a month billed annually to $349 for Advanced, with the advertised discount limited to three billing cycles. Read the allowance carefully: CHEQ counts all activity it detects, internal page views included, so it is not comparable to Spider AF's clicks. Our ClickCease review has more.
TrafficGuard
The nearest thing to Spider AF's suite logic, in that it sells beyond paid search: enterprise affiliate protection with cookie stuffing and forced click prevention, and mobile app protection with install verification and post-attribution validation through MMP integrations.
Shield is $49 a month for one domain on Google Search, capped at $30,000 monthly spend, with a 30-day trial that also runs in detection mode first. Everything wider is a quote on the Scale plan. More in our TrafficGuard review.
ClickGuard
The pick if you liked Spider AF's no-click-ceiling idea but not the entry price. ClickGuard charges on monthly ad spend with unlimited clicks on every plan, and its exclusion logic is the most granular here: cross-account, geo, multi-targeting, VPN, IP range, non-human, behavioural and conversion based.
Lite is $74 a month but covers one website and one of Google, Meta or Microsoft, with a single month of data retention. Standard from $119 covers all three networks; Pro from $159 adds conversion tracking and six months of retention, which is three times what Spider AF keeps. See our ClickGuard review.
Fraud Blocker
The mid-market default. $79 a month covers 5,000 ad clicks on one site, and $99 covers 25,000 clicks across 50 websites with ten team members; annual billing removes 20 percent. Fraud scoring, device fingerprinting, VPN and proxy blocking, custom rules, API access and a white-label platform ship on every tier.
Microsoft Ads is not native, so exclusion lists are exported to CSV and imported by hand, and protection stops once the monthly allowance is spent. Our Fraud Blocker review covers the detail.
Clixtell
The floor of the market, and the sharpest contrast with Spider AF's pricing. $15 a month buys detection across 5,000 ad clicks; automatic Google Ads IP exclusions, custom rules and Account Defense Mode start at $50. Agency at $75 adds unlimited domains and unlimited Google Ads accounts with native MCC support. Session video recording and call tracking are bundled in.
Reach is the limit: Google plus Bing per the vendor FAQ, with no documented Meta protection, and no placement or brand safety layer of the kind Spider AF sells. Our Clixtell review sets out where its detection stops.
What each one costs and covers
Read the fourth column against your own monthly click count before anything else. It decides more than the price does.
| Tool | Entry price | Charged on | Allowance at entry | Channels beyond Google, Meta and Microsoft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spider AF | $150/mo | Click volume | 500,000 clicks | Yahoo, YouTube and mobile app placements |
| ClickPatrol | €59/mo | Plan tier | Unlimited domains and platforms | DV360 |
| Lunio | On request | Share of ad spend | Tied to your ad spend | X, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Yandex, Naver |
| ClickCease | $99/mo | All detected activity | Per plan allowance | None named |
| TrafficGuard | $49/mo | Monthly ad spend | $30,000 spend, Google Search only | Affiliate and mobile app, on quote |
| ClickGuard | $74/mo | Monthly ad spend | Unlimited clicks, one network | None named |
| Fraud Blocker | $79/mo | Ad clicks | 5,000 clicks | None named |
| Clixtell | $15/mo | Ad clicks | 5,000 clicks, detection only | Bing |
Picking by how much traffic you buy
Under roughly 25,000 clicks a month, Spider AF's floor is doing you no favours. Clixtell at $50 for blocking, Fraud Blocker at $99 for 25,000 clicks, or ClickPatrol at €59 with no click ceiling all cost less and cover the same core job.
Between 25,000 and 500,000 clicks, the comparison gets genuinely close, and it turns on what kind of waste you have. If it is repeat clickers and competitors on search, the cheaper tools handle it. If it is Display and Performance Max placements on made-for-advertising sites, Spider AF's placement layer is worth the difference, and ClickPatrol is the main alternative that covers Performance Max properly.
Above 500,000 clicks, or across channels like Yandex, Naver or Reddit, the shortlist narrows to Spider AF Elite and Lunio, and you will be negotiating either way.
Whatever the volume, ask two questions the pricing pages do not answer. How long is my data kept, since two months is short enough to lose a quarter's evidence. And does the trial actually block, or only watch, because a monitoring-only trial tells you the size of the problem and nothing about the fix. The wider category is on our alternatives hub, and the mechanics under click fraud protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spider AF?
What are ad bots?
Ad bots are automated programs that click or view paid ads without any intention of buying. Some scrape competitor pricing, some inflate a publisher's revenue, and some are run by competitors to drain a rival's daily budget. Advanced ones copy human mouse movement and timing to pass basic filters.
How does Spider AF compare to ClickCease?
Spider AF starts at $150 a month for 500,000 clicks and adds placement and brand safety controls that ClickCease does not sell. ClickCease starts at $99 billed annually, counts all detected activity rather than clicks alone, and includes HubSpot lead validation that Spider AF charges for separately.
How does Spider AF compare to Lunio?
Both target larger advertisers, but they price and retain differently. Spider AF publishes $150 and $990 tiers based on click volume and keeps two months of data. Lunio publishes no price, charges a share of ad spend, keeps click data for two years, and names more channels including Yandex and Naver.
