How does IP whitelisting & blacklisting work?

IP whitelisting and blacklisting in ClickPatrol allow you to control which IP addresses are allowed or blocked from interacting with your ads. This helps ensure legitimate traffic is not mistakenly excluded while keeping fake clicks and fraudulent activity out.

How to use whitelisting and blacklisting

  • Whitelist – Add trusted IPs, such as internal company traffic or known partners, to ensure they are never blocked.
  • Blacklist – Manually block specific IPs that are generating suspicious or unwanted traffic.

Configuring exclusion rules

You can manage your IP settings in the configuration section of ClickPatrol:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Blacklist IPs to add blocked IPs.
  2. Go to Configuration > Settings to adjust exclusion rules.
  3. Use the Tracker tool to monitor and analyze traffic patterns.

By effectively managing whitelisted and blacklisted IPs, you can improve the accuracy of fraud detection and ensure your ads reach the right audience.
