How do settings work?

We do not recommend making changes to these settings unless you have experience and knowledge of how they impact fraud detection. The default settings are optimized for the best performance.

The settings page in ClickPatrol allows you to configure how the platform detects and blocks fraudulent traffic. It includes options for managing IP blocking, click thresholds, geo restrictions, and advanced security settings.

What you can configure

Campaign settings

  • Schedule blocked IP removals – Automatically remove blocked IPs after a set period.
  • Monitor-only mode – Track fraudulent traffic without blocking it.
  • Block VPN traffic – Prevent clicks from users hiding their location with a VPN.
  • Block proxy traffic – Restrict visitors using proxy servers to mask their identity.
  • Block dark web users – Stop clicks from users coming through dark web connections.
  • Mark unknown devices or operating systems as suspicious – Flag traffic from unidentified sources for additional scrutiny.
  • Suspicious AI score adjustment – Adjust how aggressively the AI flags suspicious clicks.

Click threshold settings

  • Set automatic rules to block IPs based on excessive clicking behavior (e.g., block an IP that clicks on an ad 5 times in 10 minutes).

Geo-blocking settings

  • Block all traffic from specific countries to prevent unwanted clicks from certain regions.

Timezone settings

  • Select the correct timezone for reporting and tracking accuracy.

  1. Adjust settings based on your fraud detection needs.
  2. Enable or disable automatic IP removals and bot detection.
  3. Set thresholds to prevent repetitive fraudulent clicks.
  4. Apply geo restrictions if necessary to refine audience targeting.
