CCPA/CPRA Privacy Notice for California Residents
This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained in ClickPatrol’s general Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA).
1. Our Role: Service Provider vs. Business
It is important to distinguish how ClickPatrol handles data:
When you visit our website: ClickPatrol acts as a “Business”. We collect information to market our services to you.
When you use our Click Fraud Detection Services: ClickPatrol generally acts as a “Service Provider” to our Clients (advertisers and agencies). We process data on their behalf to detect and prevent invalid traffic. In these cases, we process data strictly under the instructions of our Clients.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device (“Personal Information”).
In the preceding twelve (12) months, ClickPatrol has collected the following categories of Personal Information:

A. Identifiers Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, unique device identifiers, cookie identifiers, user agent strings, and (if you create an account) name and email address.
B. Internet or other similar network activity Browsing history, search history, information on a consumer’s interaction with an advertisement (clicks, mouse movements, timestamps).
C. Geolocation data Physical location inferred from IP address.
D. Inferences drawn from other personal information Profiles reflecting a user’s probability of being a bot or fraudulent traffic source.
3. Sources of Personal Information
We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following sources:
Directly from you: For example, from forms you complete on our website.
Indirectly from you: For example, from observing your actions on our Clients’ websites (via our tracking script) to analyze traffic quality.
From our Clients: Who utilize our service to protect their advertising campaigns.
4. Use of Personal Information
We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business purposes:
Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity (specifically click fraud and bot traffic), and prosecute those responsible for that activity.
Service Functionality: To provide the ClickPatrol services, maintain accounts, and provide customer service.
Debugging: To identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
5. Sharing Personal Information
We do NOT sell your Personal Information.
ClickPatrol does not sell personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. We do not “share” personal information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose your Personal Information to a third party for a business purpose (e.g., cloud hosting providers like AWS/Google Cloud who host our infrastructure). When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to keep that personal information confidential.
6. Your Rights and Choices
The CCPA/CPRA provides consumers (California residents) with specific rights regarding their personal information.
A. Right to Know and Data Portability
You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.
B. Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions.
Important Note on Fraud Detection: We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us to:
Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecute those responsible for such activities. (Since ClickPatrol’s core function is fraud prevention, this exception frequently applies to IP addresses and fingerprints flagged as suspicious).
Debug products to identify and repair errors.
Comply with a legal obligation.
C. Right to Correct
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
D. Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
7. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise the access, data portability, correction, and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.
8. Other California Privacy Rights
California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. ClickPatrol does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
